The Dominicans feature the strongest pitching staff of the six teams in the tournament. Anchoring the staff is Jusef Frias who is a tournament workhorse. He won the MVP in the Coastal Fall League as a pitcher going 8-0 as a member of team Cuba. Every pitcher on the Dominican Roster has professional experience. Kida De la Cruz and Domingo Jimenez pitched in A Ball.
The Dominicans are anchored behind the plate by 15 year veteran catcher Manuel Mejia who is well regarded as one of the best catchers in Houston.
Willy Taveras is the most notable name on the Dominican roster. The former Houston Astros and Colorado Rockies outfielder started and played in the World Series in 2005 and 2007. Taveras to this day had a 30 game hitting streak with the Astros that is the longest in team history. He lead the National League in stolen bases with 68 in 2006. He was a catalyst of the 2007 Rockies Wild Card team that won 8 playoff games in a row before losing to the Red Sox in the World Series.
Epi Adames will play in the team in 2020 he played in 2008. The Dominicans will feature Esteban Gomez and Wilmy Marrero in their infield.
Wilson Rodriguez is the manager of the team. Wilson was one of the original founders of the Coastal Baseball Classic in 2008 with Angel Romero of Puerto Rico. They ran Tigres del Caribe together.
